The L.I. forecast with the Arctic blast and then above average temperatures next week:

- For the Arctic blast Friday night into Saturday, the overnight Euro was even colder for Long Island, but the GFS wasn't quite as cold as it was showing as it didn't have the Arctic air extend as far south. The Euro was showing temperatures dropping below zero on Long Island with wind chills of -25 degrees, and the GFS has lows around 10 degrees with a wind chill below zero. However, the low temperature from the Euro ensemble mean is zero degrees and around 2 to 5 degrees from the Model Blend (6th image).

- A cold front today into tonight will bring some snow for the northeast, and the snow map is in the 2nd image. I may post the future radar video a little later this morning. For Long Island, it could bring a few showers after midnight with a slight chance of snow showers early tomorrow morning.

- You can see the above average temperatures for next week in the 3rd image, which shows the temperatures for Long Island from the Euro ensembles.
