The Long Island forecast with scattered thunderstorms late today and then a couple of nice days:

I have included the future radar for 6 PM today showing the scattered thunderstorms with the potential for a heavy downpour. Nice days with only moderate humidity tomorrow and Friday before humid weather returns with some showers at times over the weekend, especially later on Saturday into Sunday night.

LONG ISLAND FORECAST:

Today: Partly sunny and humid with widely scattered showers/ thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening with the potential for a heavy downpour with highs in the low 80's in Nassau and around 80 degrees in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind light in the morning at 5 mph or less and then out of the WSW/SW at 5 to 10 mph. in the afternoon

Tonight: Chance of an evening shower or thunderstorm, otherwise party cloudy with lows in the mid 60's in Nassau and low to mid 60's in Suffolk. Wind becoming light and variable.

Tomorrow: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy with moderate humidity highs in the low to mid 80's in Nassau and low 80's in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the NW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tomorrow night: Partly cloudy and humid with lows in the mid 60's in Nassau and low to mid 60's in Suffolk. Wind out of the SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy with moderate humidity with highs in the low to mid 80's, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind light and variable in the morning and then out of the SSE at around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy and humid with a 40% chance of scattered showers in the afternoon and evening with highs in the upper 70's to near 80 degrees, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the SE at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday: Humid with occasional showers and possibly a thunderstorm with highs around 80 degrees, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the SE/SSE at around 10 mph.

Monday: Partly to mostly cloudy and humid with a 40% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening with highs in the low to mid 80's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the WSW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and then out of the SSW at around 10 mph in the afternoon.
