The Long Island forecast with some comments and maps, as well as a warming trend:

- The cold and wind was as advertised last night into this morning. Highs will barely reach the low 40's on Long Island today, but it will feel much colder with the wind, especially this morning.

- It still looks like a pretty good chance for Long Island to see some light snow showers or flurries early tomorrow morning, and a dusting is possible. The timing looks like mostly 4 AM to 8 AM with some snow showers then becoming more scattered and transitioning to light rain and lingering into the early afternoon in eastern Suffolk.

- It will warm up for the middle to end of the week and into Saturday.

- A big storm next weekend is looking less likely, but I'll keep watching it and updating.
