Three periods of potential showers and/or thunderstorms for Long Island as frontal waves move along the stalled front to the south of the tri-state area.
- The first round later this morning, but most of the heavier action should stay south of Long Island. Right now, there are heavy thunderstorms in southern NJ.
- The 2nd round is tomorrow morning.
- The 3rd round looks to be early Saturday morning with the potential for heavier downpours.
