Update on the cold front with inland snow squalls and the Long Island forecast with videos/maps:

- No real changes as we have the strong Arctic cold front moving through the northeast tonight with snow squalls inland with gusty winds and a quick accumulating snow. For Long Island, it will move through between around midnight and 2 AM from west to east with gusty winds and rain with a slight chance for it very briefly end as wet snow showers.
- A very chilly Opening Day at Yankee Stadium tomorrow.
- Then we have the bigger system for Friday night into Saturday night with rain at times (less than an inch) and wind (gusts up to 40 mph) with very mild temperatures (70 degrees in NYC but only mid 50's for Montauk), and then much cooler behind the storm on Sunday before it warms up again starting on Monday.
LONG ISLAND FORECAST:
Today: Mostly sunny with highs in the low 50's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the N at 5 to 10 mph in early to mid-morning and then light and variable from late morning to early to mid-afternoon and then becoming out of the SSW at 10 to 15 mph in the late afternoon and evening.
Tonight: Becoming windy with increasing clouds as a strong cold front approaches with showers possibly ending very briefly as wet snow showers around midnight to 1 AM in Nassau and 1 AM to 3 AM in Suffolk and then clearing skies by morning with lows around 32 degrees in Nassau and around 30 degrees in Suffolk. Wind out of the SSW at 10 to 20 mph before midnight and then out of the WNW/NW at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph after midnight.
Tomorrow (Opening Day for Major League Baseball): Sunny, breezy, and very chilly with highs only in the low to mid 40's. Wind out of the NW at 10 to 20 mph.
Tomorrow night: Mostly clear with a decreasing breeze with lows in the low 30's in Nassau and around 30 degrees in Suffolk with some mid to upper 20's in the Pine Barrens area. Wind out of the NW at 10 to 15 mph in the evening and then light and variable after midnight.
Friday: Partly sunny in the morning with increasing clouds in the afternoon and becoming a breezy with a slight chance of a shower by late in the day with some showers likely at night. Highs in the mid 50's in Nassau and low 50's in Suffolk. Wind light & variable in the morning and then out of the S at 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon.
Saturday (April 1st): Rain in the morning and windy with some showers in the afternoon/evening with a chance of a late afternoon or early evening heavier shower/ thunderstorm from the cold front with highs in the mid 60's in Nassau and low 60's in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and east end with temperatures in the upper 50's. Wind out of the SSW/SW at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph in the afternoon/evening.
Sunday: Mostly sunny and much cooler with highs around 50 degrees in Nassau and around 49 degrees in Suffolk. Wind out of the NW at 10 to 20 mph.
Monday: Mostly sunny and becoming breezy with highs in the upper 50's in Nassau and mid 50's in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the S at 10 to 15 mph in the morning (lighter early) and then SSW 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy with highs in the low 60's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind from varying directions at around 10 mph, initially from the SSW and then eventually from the ESE.
