Update on the thunderstorms with severe weather to our southwest and then a nicer stretch:

- A legitimate severe weather threat for a good portion of the east from Georgia up into southern and western NY, and I have included some of the maps below with a widespread damaging wind gust threat with also some tornadoes likely.

- For Long Island, breezy with showers and possibly a thunderstorm at times, mostly this morning into early afternoon and then becoming more scattered with a lull in the action before more showers and thunderstorms arrive tonight and at times into early tomorrow morning and then most of tomorrow will be dry with a scattered shower or thunderstorm possible later in the day into early evening. I have included a bunch of future radar maps in the 5th to 9th images below.

- Besides the chance of a few showers Thursday night into early Friday morning, it looks like a pretty nice stretch from Wednesday to Saturday.

- The tropics continue to remain quiet with no action expected for at least the next 7 days, but the Euro ensembles continue to hint at some action after mid-month.
