Update on the tropics and the final day of rain for Long Island before the sunny stretch:

- The Tropical Depression way out in the Atlantic is about to dissipate and likely won't take the name Julia. However, the National Hurricane Center does note, and this is something I mentioned yesterday, that it may re-generate in the middle of the Atlantic.

- Invest 91L, the future Caribbean Sea tropical system, may become a hurricane before making landfall in Central America as ridging to its north will keep it on a westerly track. Only a few rogue Euro ensemble members eventually have it emerge into the Gulf of Mexico after crossing over land.

- More rain this morning for Long Island with some heavy downpours around and possibly a rumble of thunder, and then any showers becoming much more scattered and lighter this afternoon and evening before the storm finally pulls away. Mostly sunny days are then expected for at least the next 6 days with warm weather tomorrow and Friday before the chilly weekend and moderating temperatures early next week.
