Update on the warmth, surprise showers, cold shot, beautiful days, hurricane, and the L.I. forecast:

- An amazing day today on Long Island ahead of the cold front with highs in the mid 70's (see 4th image)! The cold front will come through this evening with a very slight chance of a passing shower, but then there is a better chance of some light scattered showers from around 2 AM to 9 AM Saturday (see 3rd image for future radar for 7 AM tomorrow) with lows in the mid to upper 40's. A cool day tomorrow with highs in the upper 50's, and a cold night tomorrow night with lows mostly in the low 40's, but the NWS is going with 32 degrees at Westhampton Beach (see 5th image) with clear skies and calm winds creating good radiational cooling conditions. Sunday to Wednesday will be beautiful days with temperatures warming from the low 60's on Sunday to the upper 60's on Wednesday. A cold front will be approaching on Thursday with some rain possibly in the afternoon and at night.

- The Tropical Depression in the southern Caribbean Sea will become Julia and should have enough time to become an 85 mph Cat 1 hurricane before making landfall in Nicaragua on Sunday morning with 5 to 15 inches of rain and the potential for life-threatening flash flooding and mudslides.

- No other tropical storms or hurricanes are expected in the Atlantic Basin for at least the next 7 days.
