- It's snowing now with temperatures below freezing on Long Island, and I already have a coating by me in northern Nassau. The snow should be ending between around 6 AM and 8 AM from northwest to southeast with up to a half-inch of snow in some spots with slightly higher amounts possible.
- You know all about the Arctic blast, and while it may have trended not quite as extreme on Long Island on the southern fringe, it will be insane farther north. Check out the wind chills in northern Maine, as low as -87 degrees!!
- You also know all about the warm-up with above normal temperatures then expected until at least February 16th.
LONG ISLAND FORECAST:
Today: Light snow with up to a half-inch of accumulation, ending between 6 AM and 8 AM from NW to SE and then becoming partly to mostly sunny with highs in the mid 30's. Wind out of the N at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and then NW at 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.
Tonight: Partly cloudy with lows mostly in the mid 20's in Nassau and low 20's in Suffolk with temperatures in the upper teens in the Pine Barrens area. Wind out of the NW then WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Tomorrow: Mostly sunny and becoming breezy in the afternoon with highs near 40 degrees. Wind out of the SW at around 5 mph in the morning and 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon.
Tomorrow night: Partly cloudy and breezy with lows in the upper 20's to near 30 degrees. Wind out of the WSW then W at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph.
Friday: Mostly sunny, windy, and very cold with temperatures in the upper 20's in the morning and falling into the teens in the evening. Wind out of the NW at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
Friday night: Frigid and windy with mostly clear skies with lows of 4 to 9 degrees with a minimum wind chill of -6 to -13 degrees. Wind out of the NW at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, breezy, and frigid in the morning with late afternoon highs in the low 20's with temperatures continuing to rise in the evening and overnight. Wind out of the WNW then W at 10 to 15 mph.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy and breezy with highs in the low 40's. Wind out of the SW at 10 to 20 mph.
Monday: Mostly sunny with highs in the mid 40's. Wind out of the NW at 10 to 15 mph.
Tuesday: Partly sunny with highs in the upper 40's. Wind out of the S at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and then out of the SSW at 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.
