Welcome to October! 39 degrees on Long Island, 150 mph Sam, nice weekend, but then a rainy week:
- Westhampton Beach is currently at 39 degrees!
- Hurricane Sam has maximum sustained winds of 150 mph, continuing its long stretch as a major hurricane! Tropical Storm Victor has maximum sustained winds of 60 mph, but neither Sam nor Victor are a threat to land. No other tropical systems are expected in the next 7 days.
- It will be a nice weekend on Long Island with a warming trend! Any showers will hold off until Sunday night. Next week will be unsettled with periods of showers, but there is still uncertainty for the mid to late week period as the GFS has high pressure suppress the moisture to the south and keep us dry.
