Wind Advisory official, Eta stronger, Euro ensembles, and snow map:
The Wind Advisory that I have been mentioning for tomorrow for Long Island has officially been issued, and it will be in effect from 6 AM to 6 PM for wind gusts up to 45 to 50 mph from the northwest. A Wind Advisory is also in effect for all of southern New England, NJ, southeastern NY state, eastern PA, and Delaware. The maximum projected wind gusts are shown in the 3rd image.
Tropical Storm Eta is rapidly intensifying; maximum sustained winds are 65 mph, and it's now projected to strengthen to 110 mph before landfall in Nicaragua on Tuesday. A storm surge of 10 to 15 feet is expected, and rainfall totals could be as high as 35 inches.
As I have posted about previously, it's still possible that Eta eventually comes northward. The Euro ensembles map is shown below in the 2nd image.
