With the exception of Thanksgiving, below normal temperatures starting tonight and lasting a while:
The cold front will be moving through this morning with temperatures falling later this afternoon and especially this evening and tonight on Long Island. Temperatures will then rise into the mid 50's on Thanksgiving before another cold front moves through Friday morning with a few showers, followed by below normal temperatures into the middle of next week before it warms up again. There are no big storms on the horizon yet, so the snow will mostly for higher elevations of northern New England and Lake Effect snow for western NY.
LONG ISLAND FORECAST:
Today: Showers ending from west to east between around 10 AM and 1 PM and then mostly cloudy and turning cooler by late afternoon. Highs in the low to mid 50's. Wind out of the WNW at 10 to 20 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy and breezy with lows mostly in the upper 20's in Suffolk and 30 to 32 degrees in Nassau. Wind out of the NW to NNW at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
Tomorrow: Partly to mostly sunny, breezy, and cold with highs in the low 40's. Wind out of the NW at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
Tomorrow night: Mostly clear and cold with lows in the mid to upper 20's. Wind out of the NNW at 10 to 15 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny with highs in the mid 40's. Wind out of the NW at 5 to 10 mph.
Wednesday night: Mostly clear with lows in the low to mid 30's. Wind out of the WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Thanksgiving: Mostly sunny with highs in the mid 50's. Wind out of the W at 5 to 10 mph.
Friday: Mostly cloudy in the morning with a chance of some showers as the cold front comes through and then partly sunny in the afternoon with highs in the upper 40's. Wind out of the WNW at 10 to 20 mph.
Saturday: Mostly sunny and breezy with highs in the low to mid 40's. Wind out of the W at 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
