L.I. forecast and then uncertainty in the exact timing and outcome for the potential northeast snow:

- Very mild the next couple of days with rain arriving tomorrow afternoon on Long Island with the warm front. There will be a lull in the action with not a lot of rain overnight and then rain Friday morning with the cold front with the rain ending around early to mid afternoon on Long Island from west to east with windy conditions with a very cold Friday night and a cold Saturday ahead.

- It then warms right back up on Sunday into early next week, but then things get much more interesting and complicated for the middle to end of next week with both timing and outcome uncertainty. It looks like first maybe a weaker system for Tuesday night and then the main system maybe Wednesday night into Thursday, but there are many possible outcomes as shown by the main models and the ensembles as well. For now, let's just say there is a chance of some snow on Long Island with a better chance as you head north into New England. There then looks like another storm for around the 27th/28th, and remember that the 15-day snow maps below include all systems combined.

- Stay tuned for more updates.
