Some showers at times Mon/Wed/Fri with Tues/Thurs/Sat looking good:

- The details for Long Island are in the forecast below, but today isn't a washout on Long Island with just a couple of afternoon showers with most of the showers and possibly a thunderstorm coming tonight between around 8 PM and 2 AM, but not a lot of rain overall (see 5th image), and it will be very humid today into tonight.

- No long stretches of nice weather ahead, so enjoy the nice days when we get them.


LONG ISLAND FORECAST:

Today: Mostly cloudy with partial dim sunshine, humid, and breezy with widely scattered showers at times and possibly a thunderstorm in the afternoon (not a washout) with highs in the low 70's, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the SSE at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph.

Tonight: Very humid with showers at times with some heavier downpours possible and a chance of a thunderstorm with lows in the low to mid 60's. Wind out of the S at 10 to 20 mph, decreasing after midnight and becoming out of the W at around 10 mph by morning.

Tomorrow: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70's to near 80 degrees, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the W at 10 to 15 mph.

Tomorrow night: Partly cloudy with lows in the low 60's in Nassau and mostly in the upper 50's to around 60 degrees in Suffolk. Wind out of the SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday (Flag Day): Partly sunny to mostly cloudy with scattered afternoon showers and possibly a thunderstorm and becoming breezy with highs in the mid 70's, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the S at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and S/SSW 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday: Mostly sunny with highs around 80 degrees in Nassau and in the upper 70's in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the W at 10 to 15 mph.

Friday: Partly to mostly cloudy with some scattered showers at times and possibly a thunderstorm highs in the mid 70's, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the WNW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday: Mostly sunny with highs in the upper 70's to around 80 degrees, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind mainly out of the WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
