Spring, Long Island forecast, 1 storm this week, tornadoes, and chillier weather:

- Spring begins at 11:33 AM.

- The upper level trough and cold front will swing through the northeast today into tonight, so it will become cloudy and breezy this afternoon and evening on Long Island with most of the rain this evening staying to our north, but we may see a shower between 9 PM and 1 AM.

- The only rainy period this week for Long Island will be mostly from Wednesday evening into Thursday afternoon, and this same system will produce dangerous severe weather with strong tornadoes across the deep south Monday into Wednesday.

- With an onshore flow, Wednesday will be the coolest day this week on Long Island with highs only in the upper 40's.

- Chilly air arrives again for next Sunday/Monday, and we will see if a storm system can spin up just off the coast next Sunday night.
