Summer begins 10:57 AM and it will be the last of the decent days for a while:

- Relatively cool today with an onshore flow and even cooler tomorrow with the rain for Long Island, and then the flow becomes more southern with high humidity and a chance of showers and thunderstorms at times into next week.

- The Model Blend 10-day rainfall map (3rd image) is very robust with it generally showing 3 to 6 inches of rain for most of the northeast.

- Tropical Storm Bret has strengthened to 60 mph as it continues to head towards the Caribbean, but it's not a threat to the United States as wind shear will cause it to dissipate into an open wave in the Caribbean Sea.

- Tropical Storm Cindy will likely form by the end of the week, but it will then head northwest (see Euro ensembles map in the 5th image).
