Update on thunderstorms, humidity, the heat wave, and the tropics:

- Thunderstorms this afternoon mostly north and west of Long Island as they will be weakening as they hit the coast later this afternoon into early evening.

- The humidity will really increase tomorrow evening and will last until the cold front comes through Saturday evening.

- Thursday is the beginning of the heat wave with the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms, although mostly north of Long Island, and then peak heat for Friday and Saturday with highs mostly in the low 90's on Long Island with heat index temperatures mostly around 100 degrees.

- A chance of scattered thunderstorms sometime Saturday afternoon and evening as the cold front comes through.

- Sunday to Tuesday then looks great with low humidity, probably increasing a bit on Tuesday.

- While we have the 3 potential systems in the tropics, there's really not much to worry about. Even the 3rd system that could potentially head in the direction of Bermuda has decreased chances for now.
