Flash Flood Watch for Long Island and Tropical Storm Franklin Forms
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Long Island from Noon today through midnight tonight. Rain is expected to develop later this morning or early this afternoon, and it may become heavy at times in thunderstorms later this afternoon or evening. 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected, although it's possible that lesser amounts occur on the north shore.
Tomorrow morning should be cloudy, but the sun should come out in the afternoon with temperatures in the upper 70's to around 80 degrees and only a slight chance of a stray shower. Wednesday and Thursday look to be mostly sunny with temperatures around 80 degrees. Most of Friday should remain dry as well.
Tropical Storm Franklin has formed, but it looks like it will make landfall in Mexico later this week as a strong tropical storm or even as a minimal hurricane. The following image shows the expected path of the storm:
