A bit of everything with sun, haze, smoke, thunderstorms, and an Air Quality Alert:

- Haze and patchy near-surface smoke around today with an Air Quality Alert in effect until midnight with warm conditions with thunderstorms possible in the afternoon which could bring brief downpours and gusty winds with a rapid temperature drop.

- While it will be mainly dry from Wednesday to Saturday, there is a chance of a shower each afternoon with the best chance being Friday afternoon when some more widespread showers look likely.

- Wildfire haze and smoke looks to return tomorrow late afternoon or early evening into the night.

- Any showers should hold off until Sunday evening/night with a better chance of more rain on Monday/Tuesday.

- There is also an unusual fire spread situation in NJ and eastern PA today (see 4th image). This is from the Storm Prediction Center: A highly unusual scenario supporting wildfire spread is possible today across parts of the Northeast. Dry/breezy surface conditions and dry thunderstorms are possible this afternoon. Gusty, erratic winds may also accompany the storms, further aggravating fire conditions.
