... or in the southern Gulf and to possibly head generally northward***
- The last of the warm and dry days for now for Long Island as rain chances increase tomorrow afternoon and at times into Friday or even Saturday, although there is still uncertainty how far north and northwest the rain shield gets. The Euro has 2 to 3 inches of rain for Long Island, and the GFS has not much in Nassau and up to 1 inch for parts of Suffolk.
- Cooler and a little less humid on Saturday, and especially on Sunday and Monday with highs around 69 or 70 degrees. It then warms up again into the mid 70's later next week.
- Besides Gordon, which will become stronger and stay way out in the Atlantic, there's nothing going on in the topics, but there is a slowly increasing chance for a hurricane to form next week somewhere in the western Caribbean or southern Gulf and head generally northward, so I will be watching it closely. You can see in the ensembles map that Florida is one potential target.
