... back from near-death, and watching the western Caribbean up towards Florida later this month***
- Potential Helene heads into the Carolina coast and brings very heavy rain with locally as much as 10 inches with wind gusts up to 60 mph.
- A chilly start, but another nice day ahead for Long Island and the northeast. Clouds begin to increase tomorrow with rain making it up towards Long Island on Wednesday. It will also become breezy with exact rainfall amounts a little uncertain.
- With a little luck, we'll have a dry weekend, and it will be a little cooler with highs in the low 70's.
- More unsettled weather to our south and offshore looks to eventually head north sometime next week.
- Gordon is way out in the Atlantic and weak, but it has a chance to strengthen this weekend as it heads north and then northeast with it being nothing to worry about.
- Still watching for a potential tropical storm or hurricane later this month to head north from the western Caribbean Sea towards the western Gulf/ Florida.
