Below average temperatures coming, but still more than 10 days away:

  • The Euro ensembles (1st image) and GFS ensembles (2nd image) are both showing colder air arriving to Long Island and the northeast around January 24th.

  • However, the core of the cold air mass will be over western Canada and down into Montana and the Upper MidWest (3rd image is the projected temperature anomaly from the Euro ensemble mean for the morning of Jan 26th).

  • The 4th image shows the projected snowfall for Long Island for the next 15 days as a running total from every Euro ensemble member.
