Cat 5 Beryl with 165 mph winds with gusts to 200 mph will weaken somewhat before heading to Jamaica and then the Yucatan, and then Texas is in play! Update on Long Island/northeast weather as well!

- Beryl became a Cat 5 last night and is now finally at peak intensity as wind shear will cause slow weakening, but it will still be a very dangerous hurricane for Jamaica. With the slightly more northern track, it could come a little closer to Cancun. Then, as I have been posting, Texas is now in play. I will have many more updates today into tonight!

- Quiet weather for Long Island and the northeast with low humidity today and tomorrow as well. More humid for the 4th of July with a chance of a late afternoon/evening shower or thunderstorm. Then VERY HUMID for Friday and Saturday with a stalled frontal boundary, so there will be some periods/areas of showers and thunderstorms, but it won't rain the entire time. The front may clear just enough to have a dry and hot Sunday afternoon, although it will still be humid on Long Island. Humidity then stays high next week!
