... a warming trend later in the week and through the weekend with a DRY stretch possibly lasting into the middle to end of next week!***
- A wild day of flooding in CT with some areas possibly getting close to 15 inches of rain, and then overnight on Long Island with reports of over 8 inches of rain on the north shore of Suffolk with water rescues, basements flooded, and even a small landslide.
- The downpours will be ending in eastern Long Island in the next couple of hours and then a mostly dry day with a line of thunderstorms from the strong cold front moving west to east early this evening. There may be heavy downpours, but these will be quick-moving and probably only last a half-hour or so.
- MUCH cooler air mass moves in with lows in the mid 50's on Long Island for early Wednesday morning and early Thursday morning, and some upper 40's are even possible at Westhampton Beach airport.
- A dry stretch of weather into at least the middle of next week with a warming trend.
- Subtle signs of life in the tropics as we get towards Labor Day weekend.
