... and quiet through this weekend in the northeast🥶☃️
- Good morning! It's a frigid morning in the northeast with wind chill temperatures below zero away from southeastern coastal areas.
- An historic snowstorm is underway for the deep south, and the snow shield will expand up into the eastern Carolinas. Then it looks like a chance for light snow for the south fork of Long Island out by Montauk between 8 PM and 1 AM with a coating being possible, and Nantucket has a chance to see up to 2 inches of snow (see 3rd image).
- Then it will generally be very cold and uneventful in the northeast with temperatures moderating a bit this weekend, especially on Sunday, and a clipper may bring light snow for northern areas.
- There may be a system for early next week, but the Euro is unimpressed. I will update on it this afternoon.
- It still looks like a brief Arctic blast for the northeast at the end of next week before a little milder air comes in.
