... strong (and likely overdone) 964 mb storm, which is how you can get potentially gusts near 70 mph near the coast.***
- While it's a complicated storm scenario and some rain will begin as early as Monday with increasing coverage on Tuesday, the stronger portion of the storm would be when the coastal storm forms and strengthens on Wednesday into Thursday and brings in colder air and stronger wind gusts. The storm will also be very slow-moving before it pulls away on Thursday. Exactly where the coastal storm forms and how strong it becomes will determine where and how much snow falls, but you can see the big potential in the maps below, especially for higher elevations. There is serious wind potential for eastern New England with max wind gusts probably in the 55 to 65 mph range with the potential for even higher gusts.
- Once we get through next week, it warms up nicely into the 60's, and there are still signs of hope for the conditions for the solar eclipse, especially farther northeast.
- I'll have more updates today and throughout the weekend.
