- There will be some showers and even snow showers at times for parts of the northeast today and tomorrow from the upper level trough (see the future radar below).
- Besides the chance of a passing shower tonight and tomorrow, Long Island should remain mainly dry through Wednesday, but then the weather becomes increasingly unsettled later in the week and especially for the weekend into next week.
LONG ISLAND FORECAST:
Today: Mostly sunny in the morning and partly cloudy in the afternoon with highs around 60 degrees, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind generally out of the WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight: Partly to mostly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower with lows in the low 40's with some upper 30's possible in the Pine Barrens area in Suffolk. Wind out of the WNW then NNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Tomorrow: Partly sunny with highs near 60 in Nassau and in the upper 50's in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the NW then WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Tomorrow night: Partly cloudy with lows in the low 40's. Wind generally out of the WNW at around 5 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny with increasing clouds in the afternoon with highs around 60 in Nassau and in the upper 50's to near 60 in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind light & variable in the morning and then out of the SSE at 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.
Thursday: Partly to mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of some showers, mainly in the morning, with highs in the upper 50's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the NNE at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and then out of the SE at around 10 mph in the afternoon.
Friday: Increasing clouds with a 20% chance of showers by late afternoon with highs in the upper 50's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the E at 10 to 15 mph.
Saturday: Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of showers with highs in the mid to upper 50's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the ENE at 10 to 20 mph.
Sunday: Rain likely and breezy with highs in the upper 50's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the E at 15 to 25 mph.
