Quiet/dry stretch for the next 7 days besides the showers tomorrow evening/night with 1 cold day:

- Milder weather for today and tomorrow on Long Island with some widely scattered light showers from the cold front mostly tomorrow evening/night with clearing skies Saturday morning. I have included the future radar from the NAM.

- A cold stretch from Saturday night to Monday morning with lows in the upper 20's with highs on Sunday only in the low 40's with wind gusts up to 30 mph.

- The dry weather should continue through at least next Thursday morning with mostly seasonable temperatures, and then some unsettled weather for around next Friday/Saturday.


LONG ISLAND FORECAST:

Today: Mostly sunny with highs in the mid 50's in Nassau, low 50's in Suffolk, but upper 40's for the east end. Wind out of the NW/WNW at 10 to 20 mph in the morning and then W at 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with increasing clouds after midnight with lows in the upper 30's in Nassau and in the mid 30's in Suffolk. Wind out of the WSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tomorrow (St. Patrick's Day): Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of scattered showers by late afternoon with highs in the mid 50's in Nassau and low to mid 50's in Suffolk, but cooler for the east end. Wind out of the SSW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Tomorrow night: Cloudy with widely scattered light showers at times with lows in the low 40's towards morning. Wind out of the SW and then W at 10 to 15 mph.

Saturday: Early clouds and then mostly sunny and breezy with highs mostly around 50 degrees. Wind out of the WNW then W at 10 to 20 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, windy, and fairly cold with highs in the low 40's. Wind out of the WNW at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Monday: Sunny with highs in the mid to upper 40's in Nassau and mid 40's in Suffolk. Wind out of the WNW then W at around 10 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny with highs in the low 50's in Nassau and near 50 degrees in Suffolk, but cooler for the east end. Wind mostly out of the NW then W at 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with highs in the low 50's. Wind out of the N then SW at 5 to 10 mph.
