Signals looking better for cold and potentially snow after the first week of December:

The Euro ensembles snow map (1st image) looks better than the overnight run, and even better than the run from yesterday afternoon.


Also, we still have the strong wind gusts for Wednesday evening/night, as I have been posting about, and now this is what the NWS covering Long Island is saying: "The potential exists for wind gusts to reach 45-55 mph (Wind Advisory levels) along and just behind the front passage." Also, the max gusts for Islip from the Euro ensemble mean is 50 mph, but it always depends on how much of the wind mixes down to the surface from the strong low-level jet.
