Smoke and haze still around, warming up tomorrow and especially Friday:

- The smoke/haze will be strongest early this morning on Long Island (2nd image is for 7 AM).

- Early morning fog will burn off tomorrow and then it will be a sunny and warm afternoon.

- Low 90's inland on Friday (see 3rd image).

- Some scattered showers around Friday night into Saturday, hopefully mainly in the morning into early afternoon, and it will be cooler this weekend.


LONG ISLAND FORECAST:

Today: Early low clouds/fog/haze/smoke and then becoming mostly sunny with some light haze with highs in the low 70's, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind mainly out of the NE and then E/ESE at around 5 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear with some light haze and then patchy fog after midnight, especially on the south shore with lows in the mid to upper 50's in Nassau and low to mid 50's in Suffolk. Wind out of the SSE at 5 to 8 mph in the evening and then nearly calm after midnight.

Tomorrow: Early fog and low clouds and then sunny by mid to late morning from north to south with highs around 81 degrees in Nassau and in the upper 70's to near 80 degrees in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind light and variable in the morning and then out of the SSE at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tomorrow night: Mostly clear with lows in the low 60's in Nassau and mostly in the upper 50's to around 60 degrees in Suffolk, but some mid 50's in the Pine Barrens area. Wind out of the SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny and very warm with highs in the mid to upper 80's in Nassau and low to mid 80's in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind mainly out of the W at around 5 mph in the morning and then out of the S then S at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy and becoming breezy with a 60% chance of some showers, mainly in the morning into early afternoon with highs near 70 degrees, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the NE then ENE at 10 to 20 mph, strongest in the afternoon.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with highs around 70 degrees in Nassau and in the upper 60's in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the NE at around 10 mph in the morning and then out of the ENE at 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Monday: Mostly sunny with highs in the mid 70's in Nassau and low to mid 70's in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind mostly out of the NNE then N at 10 to 15 mph.
