LONG ISLAND FORECAST:

***Air Quality Alert until midnight tonight***

Today: Hazy skies with patchy smoke with more clouds in the afternoon with a 20% chance of a late afternoon shower with highs in the low 70's in Nassau and around 70 degrees, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the NW at 5 mph or less in the morning and 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon, except out of the S in the afternoon along the south shore.

Tonight: Hazy and partly cloudy skies with a 20% chance of an evening shower with lows mostly in the mid to upper 50's in Nassau and mid 50's in Suffolk. Wind becoming light and variable mainly at 5 mph or less.

Tomorrow: Only slight haze with partly cloudy skies in the morning and then mostly cloudy in the afternoon with a 60% chance of some scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm in the afternoon/evening with highs in the upper 60's, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the N around 5 mph or less in the morning and then varying directions at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tomorrow night: Scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm in the evening and then partly cloudy after midnight with lows in the mid 50's in Nassau and low to mid 50's in Suffolk. Wind becoming light and variable at 5 mph or less.

Saturday: Mostly sunny in the morning and partly cloudy in the afternoon with a slight chance of a shower with highs in the mid 70's, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the NW at around 5 mph in the morning and NW then WNW at around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70's, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind light and variable in the morning and then out of the SSW then S around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Monday: Increasing clouds and becoming breezy with a 40% chance of scattered showers in the afternoon/ evening with highs in the mid 70's, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the SSE at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday: Rain likely, especially in the morning into early afternoon, with highs in the mid to upper 70's, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the SSE/S at 10 to 15 mph.

Wednesday: Partly sunny with a 30% chance of an afternoon shower with highs in the mid to upper 70's, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the WSW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.
