Still waiting on Patty with it being slow to form and still only a moderate chance overall, and the Long Island forecast with a few warm days ahead, a little rain, a cool weekend, and more warm...

... weather for the middle of next week!

- The NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center is still at a 40% chance of tropical development in the Caribbean within the next 7 days as the models keep pushing back development a little further out in time. It still bears watching, as you can see in the Euro ensembles below, but remember that there are 50 Euro ensemble members.

- Some showers in the northeast this afternoon into tonight as the warm front moves through, and you all know about the warm Halloween. The cold front moves through Friday morning with some showers, and it will still be warm Friday afternoon for Long Island, and it will be breezy/windy.

- A cool and dry weekend ahead for Long Island and the northeast.

- Warm weather returns for the middle of next week with a chance of some rain for some areas of the northeast Tuesday/ Wednesday. The 3rd image is the 7-day precipitation map from the Model Blend, which goes through next Monday.
