The L.I. forecast as the rainy weekend looms and the following weekend also has rain potential:

- With the exception of a few widely scattered showers early this morning, the overall nice week continues with milder weather for tomorrow and Thursday.

- While the exact details are still uncertain, it looks like the rain should mainly arrive on Saturday between late morning and early to mid-afternoon from west to east on Long Island and last into Sunday with the potential for 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain with wind gusts up to 30 to 35 mph for the coast, but stay tuned for changes.

- It's really early, but there is the potential for some rain again for the weekend of the 21st/22nd, but I wouldn't worry about it yet.

- The system in the Gulf won't become tropical, but it will bring plenty of rain and some wind to the central to eastern Gulf coast tomorrow into Thursday morning.

- Tropical Storm Sean may form later this week or weekend in the eastern Atlantic, but it's nothing to worry about.

- The 2nd image is for 8 AM Sunday and the rainfall maps in the 3rd to 6th images are from the Model Blend, Weather Prediction Center, Euro, and GFS.
