- Hot for areas to the west and southwest today, but the hot weather really gets cranking after today, although Long Island will not be as hot. I have included the maps below showing the highs for every day this week for every area of the northeast with some days getting over 100 degrees for some areas with the heat index of 100 to 110 degrees.
- As for the humidity, it will generally be moderate/high and then become very humid on Long Island Friday, but especially this weekend.
- The chance for scattered thunderstorms increases at the end of the week and this weekend.
- We still have to 2 potential systems in the tropics with the one in the southwestern Gulf having a pretty good chance to become Alberto in a couple of days, but a lot of rain is coming for coastal Texas (see map below).
