Tranquil in the east with all of the action well to the west with Blizzard Warnings again for ND:

- It will be a really nice today with sunshine and a breeze with highs mostly in the mid 60's on Long Island. Generally dry this weekend with a slight chance of some light scattered showers or sprinkles tomorrow evening/night. Rain coming for Tuesday with cooler weather for the middle to end of next week.

- All kinds of action for the central to western part of the country with Blizzard Warnings again in effect for eastern Montana into western North Dakota and extremely critical fire weather danger with High Wind Warnings generally from New Mexico up through eastern Colorado and into western Nebraska.


LONG ISLAND FORECAST:

Today: Sunny with highs mostly in the mid 60's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the NW at 10 to 20 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear to partly cloudy with lows in the low to mid 40's, but some upper 30's in the Pine Barrens area in eastern Suffolk. Wind out of the N at 10 to 15 mph.

Tomorrow: Partly cloudy with highs in the upper 50's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the NNE in the morning at 5 mph and then SSW in the afternoon at around 10 mph.

Tomorrow night: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of light scattered showers or sprinkles with lows in the mid 40's. Wind out of the S at 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy in the morning and partly cloudy in the afternoon with highs in the low to mid 60's in Nassau and in the upper 50's to low 60's in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind generally out of the E at 10 to 15 mph.

Monday: Partly to mostly cloudy with highs mostly in the upper 50's, but around 60 degrees in northwestern Nassau and cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the ESE at 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday: Cloudy with showers with highs around 60 degrees. Wind mostly out of the ESE at 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy in the morning with a slight chance of showers and then partly cloudy in the afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 50's. Wind out of the WNW at 10 to 20 mph.
