- There really aren't any changes for the system for Friday evening into Saturday morning, and I have the details for Long Island in the forecast below. Rain should arrive by early evening from west to east, and it could mix with or change to sleet/snow overnight for several hours with the best chance being in northern Nassau. This system is not a big deal though for us, and any rain/snow ends by around mid-morning on Saturday. The forecast will be fine-tuned, of course, as we get within range of the NAM and then the HRRR. I have included the Euro video for this storm below (6th image) and also the Euro, Euro ensemble mean, and Model Blend snow maps (3rd to 5th images), which show the general idea.
- The really interesting storm looks like the Mon/Tues potential coastal storm! This is a potential high impact storm with major snow potential with the best chance right now being for the higher elevations of interior central to northern areas of the northeast, but a snowstorm is still on the table for areas farther south, and it is still possible even for Long Island. We would need the track to be offshore in the right spot with the timing mostly in the evening/night and for the strong to be strong enough to draw in colder air. I have included many maps below (see 7th to 11th images for the 8-day snow maps).
- Stay tuned as I will continue to update!
