***Update on Hurricane Debby and Long Island/northeast impacts as track slowly comes into focus! Multiple rounds of heavy rain in the northeast this week/weekend with the potential for wind along the coast (as Euro is showing). Also, 2 more potential hurricanes.***
- The new NHC advisory will be coming out soon, but Hurricane Debby will be making landfall soon with gusts over 90 mph along the coast. You all know about the slow movement to follow with rainfall amounts possibly up to 20 inches or more in parts of southeast GA and coastal SC. It looks like Debby will emerge off the coast and re-strengthen a bit and then make a second landfall, this time in South Carolina probably. Then it looks like it will eventually turn NNE/NE and possibly pass just southeast of Montauk and Cape Cod, but the exact track is uncertain still. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer.
- There is also a heavy rain event with some thunderstorms for tomorrow afternoon into Wednesday morning at least for Long Island and parts of the northeast with the potential for up to 2 inches of rain. I have included some rainfall maps below from the Model Blend and Euro.
- You can see on the Euro ensembles map below the potential for 2 more hurricanes. The first one is the one that is already highlighted by the NHC and the 2nd one would hopefully curve north before getting to the east coast of the United States, like shown in the map (last image).
- Lots of updates all day and through this evening! Hard to explain everything in this one post.
