***Update on the hot day with a quick cooldown, thunderstorms and 2 weekend cold fronts, amazing weather next week, and the tropics with nothing imminent as we approach peak season!***

- You know about the hot weather today for southern areas of the northeast (see 2nd image for heat index temps), and the scattered thunderstorm threat is mostly farther south (see 3rd image).

- A huge difference tomorrow for Long Island with an onshore flow and temps only in the mid 70's, and even cooler on Friday as the onshore flow continues.

- Increasing humidity on Saturday afternoon and evening ahead of the cold front. The timing of the showers and thunderstorms looks to be mainly in the evening and overnight for Long Island.

- Showers should linger Sunday morning for the coast, and it will remain humid for Long Island and southeastern New England.

- A secondary cold front comes through mainly dry on Sunday night into Labor Day morning, so it will be less humid on Labor Day.

- Amazing weather next week with sunshine, low humidity, and comfortably cool temperatures with a slight warm-up at the end of the week.

- The National Hurricane Center is still at 20% for that main area in the Atlantic, so nothing is imminent, and it may not develop at all. There are still a handful of ensemble members that make it a major hurricane eventually, but it's a low chance. The next wave coming off Africa should develop, but will likely turn north fairly early and stay out in the ocean.

- There is a very slight chance of tropical development in the central to western Gulf, but there will definitely be huge rainfall totals (see Model Blend rainfall map for the next 10 days in the 6th image).
