Update on the L.I. forecast and the northeast storm with heavy snow, heavy rain, and strong winds:

- The details for Long Island are in the forecast below with there only being the chance for a little light snow/sleet at the beginning, but it's basically an all-rain event with a period of heavy rain tomorrow night with wind gusts up to 40 or even 45 mph.

- I have posted some future radar images and snow maps below, and I will continue to post updates. Keep in mind that the snow will be changing to sleet/freezing rain and then rain from south to north, so elevation will be the key to the higher snowfall totals (see the NAM map in the 3rd image as compared to the NWS map in the 2nd image.

- Colder air still looks like it's coming in early February, and there will be a chance for a northeast snowstorm, but there is obviously a lot of uncertainty, so I will keep watching it and updating.
