Update on the tropics and the Long Island forecast with a dry stretch starting Thursday:

- We still have the 2 potential systems in the tropics. The one off the coast of Africa may become a weak, short-lived tropical storm later this week before weakening and then possibly re-strengthening later on in the middle of the Atlantic, but it's of no concern to us. The system that will be entering the Caribbean Sea is designated as Invest 91L, and it's being given a 40% chance of tropical development within the next 5 days, according to the National Hurricane Center. The models are not overly bullish on its development, aside from the Canadian and HWRF. I will have more updates on it today to see how it's progressing.

- The details for Long Island are in the forecast below, but we remain locked into this pattern of clouds, showers, and wind for the next few days. Then the dry stretch begins with beautiful and warm days in the low 70's on Thursday and Friday before a cold front comes through Friday night. Saturday will then be much cooler with highs in the upper 50's, and then temperatures gradually warm up after that back into the mid 60's next week.
