*****80 degrees today, 47 degrees Mon morning, Philippe heading towards Maine/ Nova Scotia as post-tropical storm/ Euro signaling band of higher rainfall potential, mainly dry next week, and another potential storm for NEXT weekend (Oct 14th/15th)*****
- You all know about the warmth with another beautiful day today, but it will be more humid. Also, the HRRR is showing low clouds moving in along the south shore of Suffolk later this afternoon from south to north.
- I have included the temperatures below from the Euro ensembles so you can see that it will be getting cooler every day into early next week with lows in the mid to upper 40's on Long Island.
- I have also included the rainfall maps through this weekend from the Model Blend, Weather Prediction Center, and Euro. It's noteworthy that the Euro is signaling a band of higher rainfall totals, so this is what I'll be watching when we get into range of the high-resolution models like the HRRR and NAM. As I posted about last night, it's complex setup with Philippe and multiple areas of low pressure, but Philippe will be post-tropical before getting to Maine/ Nova Scotia, although it will be a pretty strong storm. I will post wind maps as we get closer.
- Next week is basically dry and cool for Long Island, but then there is the potential for another storm around NEXT Sat/Sun (Oct 14th/15th). Plenty of time to watch it, but it could be a nor'easter type of storm.
