Warm stretch before a chilly Halloween, Otis 165 mph Cat 5 landfall on Acapulco, and Tammy 100 mph!

- Enjoy the warmth the next 4 or 5 days as the colder air is coming for Halloween with some nights in the 30's next week.

- There could be a few showers sometime on Sunday or Monday, but the exact timing and extent is a little uncertain. It doesn't look like much rain for Long Island though (the 7-day rainfall map is shown below).

- There could be a sneaky system next Wednesday after the colder air is in place, but we'll see.

- Otis incredibly intensified into a 165 mph Cat 5 and made landfall in Acapulco overnight.

- Hurricane Tammy has strengthened and now has maximum sustained winds of 100 mph. Some further slight strengthening is possible today, but it will become extratropical tomorrow and then gradually weaken as it comes kind of close to Bermuda with the exact track being somewhat uncertain.
