Welcome to Friday with decent weather ahead overall in the northeast, although not dry all the time, and there are signs of life in the tropics:

- Very warm today for Long Island and eastern and southern areas of the northeast (see 3rd image) with lower humidity in the afternoon. There will be scattered thunderstorms inland and to the north with some spokes spinning around the upper level low, and a shower may make it to Long Island and the coast in the late afternoon.

- Tomorrow the scattered shower/thunderstorm chances are basically only for northern areas of the northeast.

- Another system swinging through on Sunday could complicate things and bring a chance of some showers.

- The 10-day rainfall map shows not a lot of rain overall for Long Island and southern New England with crazy amounts of rain for the southern half of Florida.

- The Euro ensembles are showing a slight chance of a tropical system in the Gulf just after mid-month (see 6th image).
