Welcome to May! It will feel like April this week, but looks great for the weekend into next week!

- Parts of NYC had over 6 inches of rain over the weekend!! I saw totals up to 3 inches on Long Island.

- The upper level low will be spinning over the northeast this week producing showers at times with even some low-topped thunderstorms that can produce small hail, and temperatures will be well below average. There will even be some snow in West Virginia and western PA. See the future radar video below.

- However, conditions really improve for this coming weekend and into next week with warmer weather and a lot of sunshine!


LONG ISLAND FORECAST:

Today: Mostly sunny in the morning and then partly to mostly cloudy in the afternoon and continued breezy conditions with a slight chance of a stray shower with highs in the upper 50's to near 60 degrees, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the WSW then SW at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with some widely scattered showers becoming more prevalent after midnight with lows in the mid to upper 40's. Wind out of the SSW/S at 10 to 15 10 mph.

Tomorrow: Cloudy and cool with showers at times with highs in the mid 50's. Wind out of the SW at 10 to 15 mph.

Tomorrow night: Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of some widely scattered showers with lows in the mid 40's in Nassau and low 40's in Suffolk. Wind out of the WSW at 10 to 15 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy and cool with a 40% chance of some widely afternoon showers with any shower being capable of producing a brief downpour and even hail with highs in the low to mid 50's. Wind out of the WSW/SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of a shower with highs in the mid 50's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the NNE at around 10 mph.

Friday: Partly to mostly cloudy with still a 30% chance of a shower highs in the mid to upper 50's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the NE at 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday: Partly cloudy with highs in the low to mid 60's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the NNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with highs around 70 degrees in Nassau and the upper 60's in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the NNW at 5 to 10 mph.
